On October 21, the Dice Chess team visited the Šahatoniņš 2026 children’s chess camp, organized by Chesston chess school. The camp took place at Riga Secondary School No. 13 (Rīgas 13. vidusskola).

Sixteen young chess players took part in the workshop. The Dice Chess team introduced the children to the game, explained the rules, and showed how a roll of the dice changes a familiar game of chess. The kids picked it up quickly and put their new knowledge into practice right away, playing their very first games of Dice Chess. Every participant received their own set of dice as a gift, so they can keep playing at home.

The workshop ended with a fun relay race. The children split into four teams and chose their own team names. The competition was fierce, and the final standings were:

🥇 1st place – Svaigie gurķiši (Fresh Cucumbers)
🥈 2nd place – Sīpoli (Onions)
🥉 3rd place – Burkānīši (Little Carrots)
4th place – Pēdējā vieta (Last Place). The team lived up to its name, but played with great spirit!

Dice Chess thanks all the children for their enthusiasm and great energy, and Chesston for the invitation and the collaboration. See you at our next events!
