Bengaluru is hosting the fourth season of the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League, running 5–13 September at The Lalit Ashok, with six franchises competing for a $1,000,000 prize fund. Magnus Carlsen returns after skipping last season as an Icon for defending champions Alpine APL Pipers, alongside Viswanathan Anand and debutant Divya Deshmukh.
