PARTICIPANTS

The tournament has individual registration for youths up to 18 years old. Additionally, there is a family registration in the tournament – a team of 2 people, one of whom is a person up to 18 years old + a family member without age restrictions. Adults cannot participate in the tournament individually!

The number of spots is limited – maximum 80 participants!

PARTICIPATION FEE

Participation fee is 5 EUR for each participant. Payment must be made by bank transfer before the start of the tournament!

  • Applications will also be accepted on the spot, if there are spots available.

TOURNAMENT SYSTEM

  • Swiss system – 6 double rounds (two games with each opponent, a total of 12 games).
  • Each player receives 5 minūtes for the game + 5 seconds per every move.
  • In case of equal points, the following tiebreakers are used:
    • Bucholz
    • Improved Bucholz
    • PPK (FIDE Progressive score).

Prize fund is 250 EUR.

  • Expenses related to the travel, accommodation, meals, or other expenses of the tournament participants and their accompanying persons are covered by the tournament participants or the organizations they represent.
  • Each adult participant is personally responsible for the suitability of his health condition for the competition.
  • The parents or the organization that registers the participants are responsible for the compliance of the health status of the minor participant.
  • This tournament is a public event and its progress may be reflected in the media, recording your participation in this event as well. Photography and filming may be done during the event for the purpose of informing the public in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph e) of the General Data Protection Regulation. Photos and video materials will be published on chess and sports industry websites and their social network accounts. Tournament results will be published on www.chess-results.com. Data processing period – permanent.
  • The organizers reserve the right to make the necessary changes in the rules of the tournament before the start of the tournament.

Chess Results

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the first youth tournament “DICE CHESS CRAZY KING” will take place at the Pullman Riga Old Town Hotel in collaboration with the Baltic Chess Academy. This tournament is of a new format, as it also includes a family category (a team of 2 people). Therefore, we are pleased to invite not only young participants but also their parents and close relatives to take part in the tournament.

The tournament will follow the Swiss system – 6 double rounds (two games with each opponent, totaling 12 games). Each participant will have 5 minutes per game + 5 seconds for each move made. The prize fund is planned to be 250 EUR, with prizes awarded both individually and in the team category. More detailed information is available in the tournament regulations.
