LATVIAN DICE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

Date: The tournament will be held on November 5, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Place: Hotel “Park Inn by Radisson Riga Valdemara”, Krogus street 1, Riga, Latvia.

Playing order: Swiss system – 9 double rounds (two games with each opponent, together 18 games).

Time control: Each participant has 5 minutes per game + 5 seconds for each move made.

Tie-breaks: In case of an equal number of points, the following additional indicators are used:

1) Buchholz coefficient.

2) Improved Buchholz coefficient.

Participants: All participants, regardless of age and level of play, are invited to participate in the tournament. The tournament is of open type and players from other countries are also invited to take part.

Places are limited!

  • Expenses related to the travel, accommodation, meals, or other expenses of the tournament participants and their accompanying persons are covered by the tournament participants or the organizations they represent.
  • Each adult participant is personally responsible for the suitability of his health condition for the competition.
  • The parents or the organization that registers the participants are responsible for the compliance of the health status of the minor participant.
  • This tournament is a public event and its progress may be reflected in the media, recording your participation in this event as well. Photography and filming may be done during the event for the purpose of informing the public in accordance with Article 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph e) of the General Data Protection Regulation. Photos and video materials will be published on chess and sports industry websites and their social network accounts. Tournament results will be published on www.chess-results.com. Data processing period – permanent.
  • The organizers reserve the right to make the necessary changes in the rules of the tournament before the start of the tournament.

Regulation

On Sunday, November 5, at the “Park Inn by Radisson Riga Valdemara” hotel in Riga, the second Latvian “Dice Chess” championship will be held, to which all interested parties are invited.

The rules of the tournament are 9 double rounds (two games with each opponent) with a time control of  5 minutes + 5 seconds per move. The games start at 11:00 a.m.

The prize fund is 1500 EUR, of which the winners of the first three places will receive 250 EUR, 170 EUR and 150 EUR respectively. Women’s, youth, senior, as well as “surprise” prizes are also planned.

The participation fee is 5 EUR (bank transfer).
